Miss Lena Bass Succumbs
Miss Lena Bass, of
112 North Claybrook, who came to Memphis
47 years ago from her native Europe, died Saturday morning at Baptist Hospital. She was born in Lithuania 70 years ago.
Before coming to Memphis, Miss Bass made her home in Baltimore.
She had lived here for the past forty years.
Surviving are her
nieces and nephews, Miss Hattie Bass, Mrs. Leo Seligman, Mrs. Gregory Gutman, and Dr. A. A. Bass, of Memphis; Miss Edna Schwartz, Miss Bess Schwartz and
Milton Schwartz, of High Point, N. C.; Harry Schwartz of Easton, Pa.; and David
Schwartz, of Jeffersonville, Ind. She is
also survived by eleven greatnieces and greatnephews and one great-great niece.
Services were held
Sunday at noon with Rabbi Morton Baum officiating. Interment was in Anshei Sphard Cemetery.
