Mrs. Eva Bisno Succumbs
Mrs. Eva Bisno, widow of Jacob Bisno,
founder of Bisno Supply Company, died following an
illness of fifteen months, Wednesday at B’nai B’rith Home. Mrs. Bisno, who was
73, formerly made her home at Goodman House.
She had lived in St. Paul, Minn., after her marriage and until she came to Memphis about 52 years
ago.
Mrs. Bisno was a member of Baron Hirsch Congregation, Jewish
Ladies Aid Society, a life member of Baron Hirsch Ladies Auxiliary, a member of
Senior Hadassah and B’nai B’rith Women of Memphis. She had devoted many years of her life to
social welfare and Red Cross work.
Surviving are her
two daughters, Mrs. Morris Silverfield, of Osceola, Ark., and Mrs.
George Brown, of Memphis; three sons, Ralph Bisno
of Memphis;
Julius and Harold Bisno, both of Los Angeles; two sisters,
Mrs. Lillian Wegofsky, of Los Angeles, and
Mrs. Sarah Padwell, of St. Paul; her brother, Louis Seigel of Chicago;
five grandchildren, Mrs. William Bernatsky, Dr. Jack N. Bisno,
Alan Bisno, Lt. Lionel Silverfield,
and J. Alvin Bisno and two great-grandchildren, Susan
Lynn Bernatsky and Eileen Bisno.
Services were held
Thursday. Interment was in Baron Hirsch
Cemetery. Rabbi Isadore
Goodman officiated.
