Mrs. Gerber Succumbs

Mrs. Rebecca Gerber, widow of Max Gerber, died Thursday at B’nai B’rith Home and Hospital after an illness of about five years. She had made her home in Memphis since 1907.

Mrs. Gerber was born in Kishinev, Russia 79 years ago. She moved to Memphis from New York. She was a member of Baron Hirsch Congregation and of the Baron Hirsch Ladies’ Auxiliary.

Surviving are her sons, former Atty. Gen. Will Gerber and Morrie Gerber, of Memphis; Joe, Martin and Edward Gerber, of Chicago; her daughter, Mrs. Phil Isaacs, of New York, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services were held Friday afternoon at Abraham Memorial Chapel. Interment was in Baron Hirsch Cemetery. Rabbi David Skopp officiated.
