Joseph S. Kisber Dies
Joseph S. Kisber, who had been ill for the past seven years, died
Sunday morning at his place of business, Kisber Auto
Supply Co., 1137 South Third.
Mr. Kisber was born 49 years ago in Athens,
Ala., and came to Memphis in 1917. He attended Christian Brothers
College, where he was a
backfield star on the 1921 football team.
He was a member of
Baron Hirsch Congregation, a Shriner and a member of
Leila Scott Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are his
wife, Mrs. Minnie Kisber; two sons, Leonard Kisber and Lewis Kisber, of Memphis; two daughters, Mrs. Nate Koenig, of Washington, and Mrs. Cecil Maskowitz,
of Birmingham; and a brother, Al Kisber, of Memphis.
Services were held
Monday morning at Abraham Memorial Chapel, with Rabbi Isadore
Goodman officiating. Interment was in Baron Hirsch
Cemetery.
