Sam Lipson Succumbs

 

   Sam Lipson, former furniture dealer of Des Moines, Iowa, died Saturday morning at Baptist Hospital following an illness of three months.  Mr. Lipson had lived in Memphis for the past ten years, moving here from Des Moines, where he made his home for 50 years.  He lives at 412 North Claybrook and was a member of Baron Hirsch Congregation.

   Mr. Lipson was born in Lithuania 79 years ago.  He came to the United States as a young man.  He had retired from active business about 20 years ago.

   He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Celia Lipman, with whom he had planned celebrating their golden wedding anniversary in the spring; his son, Jack I. Lipson, and his daughter, Mrs. Louis Friedman, both of Memphis; his brother Arthur Lipson, of Des Moines; five sisters, Mrs. A Pruce, Mrs. Jack Rissman, Mrs. Louis Lazarus, Mrs. Harry Pruce and Mrs. Jake Brooks, all of Des Moines.

   Services were held Sunday afternoon at Abraham Memorial Chapel with Rabbi Isadore Goodman officiating.  Interment was in Baron Hirsch Cemetery.
