Mrs. Birdie Moskovitz Succumbs
Mrs. Birdie Moskovitz, widow of Morris Moskovitz,
who operated the former M. Moskovitz Bakery before
his death 40 years ago, died Tuesday, April 5 at the home of her daughter, Mrs.
Harry Wener, 1086 Thomas, where Mrs. Moskovitz also made her home. Mrs. Moskovitz had
been ill for the past five years.
Born in Russia 79 years ago, she moved to Memphis about 64 years
ago.
Besides her
daughter, Mrs. Wener, she is survived by three other
daughters, Mrs. Rose Johnson, Mrs. Hannah Johns and Miss Pearl Moskovitz, all of Memphis;
a son, Milton Moskovitz, of Tyler Texas; seven
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was a member of
Baron Hirsch Congregation.
Services were held
Wednesday morning with Rabbi Isadore Goodman and
Cantor David Skopp officiating. Interment was in Baron Hirsch
Cemetery.
