Izzy Rosen Succumbs
Izzy
Rosen, popular owner of the shoe store which bears his name, died Friday night
at Baptist Hospital following an illness of six
months. He had been a patient at the
hospital since October 29.
Mr. Rosen was born
in New York 67 years ago and moved to Memphis when a
child. He founded his own business about
fifty years ago. His original store was
at Main and Union and he late moved to Main and Madison
before moving to the present location at 109 Madison.
His home was at 52 St. Andrews Fairway.
Mr. Rosen was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and of Baron Hirsch
Congregation.
He is survived by
his wife, Mrs. Bertha Schneider Rosen; a son, Harry S. Rosen, of Memphis, a brother, Morris Rosen, of Daytona
Beach, Fla., and three sisters,
Mrs. Joe Groskind, of Memphis,
Mrs. Jack Crowley, of Seguin, Texas,
and Mrs. Dave Hirsch, of San Francisco.
Services were held
Sunday afternoon at Sam Abraham Memorial Chapel with Rabbi Isadore
Goodman officiating. Interment was in Baron Hirsch
Cemetery.
