Aged Helena Resident Dies After
Short Illness

Many years, passed away Friday afternoon, July 27, at 3:00
o’clock at the Cleburne Hotel, where he had been ill for several weeks. Mr. Seelig was born
in Kratoschin,
Germany, coming
to this country in 1882. He came direct
to this city from New York,
connecting himself with the mercantile business of his brother, Simon Seelig. He was
married to Miss Besie Fink, of this city, in
1891. Mr. Seelig
was the organizer of the Interstate National Bank, of Helena in 1907. He retired from this institution in
1917. He is survived by one sister, who
lives in Berlin, four nephews, Dr. M. G. Seelig, of St. Louis, Leo, Bego(?),
and Seelig Mundt, of this
city, and one niece, Mrs. Ed Weil, of Helena.
Mr. Seelig…connected with the ?. O. B. ?. Lodge…as well as the Grand…was also a member of the
Masonic Lodge. Funeral Serves were held
from Temple Beth El Sunday morning at ten thirty. Acting Pall Bearers were: Ira K?ow, Lafe Solomon, A. N. Tanner, Silas Levy, Isidor
Rothschild, T. M. Wallace, Rue Abramson, Jacob Thompson. Honorary:
S. ? Moore, Habib Etsch, J. I. Moore, J. I, Altman, E. R Crum, W. C. King, ? ? Bell, Jacob Jeidel, I. Neely, Father
Martin, V. Newman, E. C. Horner, Warfield Gist, and Emmett Zambie. Funeral arrangements in
charge of Cunningah-Harraway.
