Sam Silverson, Retired Merchant,
Passes
Services were held
Monday afternoon for Sam Silverson, retired
mercantile store owner, who passed away Saturday evening at Adler Nursing Home
after a three-month illness.
Mr. Silverson, who made his home at 1970 Crump, was born in Russia 90 years
ago and came to this country about 60 years ago. He operated a store in Friars
Point, Miss., before he came to Memphis in 1933. He was a member of Temple Israel.
Rabbi James A. Wax
officiated at services. Interment was in
Temple Israel Cemetery.
Surviving are his
two sons, Maurice Silverson, and Herbert Silverson, both of Memphis.
