   Simon was born in Jones-

Ark., 62 years ago.  He had

friend of show people all

…playing bit parts in stock

companies, and as a clarinetist.  He

was a musician and for many

years served as an assistant to Merle

Evans, band master for the Ring-

ling Bros. circus.

   He had made his home in Mem-

phis for the past 22 years and had

been assistant manager of Warn-

er Theatre, ticket salesman at the

Auditorium, manager of the Ritz

Theatre and assistant manager of

The Plaza and Luciann Theatres.

   Rabbi Morton Baum officiated

At services held Sunday afternoon.

Interment was in Anshei Sphard

Cemetery.  Surviving are a sister,

Mrs. Irwin Lehman, and four bro-

thers, Ike Simon of Jackson, Tenn.,

Jake Simon, Abe Simon and Ma-

cey Simon, all of Memphis; three

nieces and a nephew.

   Mr. Simon was a member of An-

shei Sphard Congregation, of the

Egypt Temple of the Shrine at

Tampa, Fla., and the Variety Club.
