Isaac
Walter Passes
Away
Isaac Walter, 356 North Main Street,
died Saturday morning at 1:30 at Baptist
Hospital, where he had
been a patient for almost a week. Mr.
Walter had been in ill health for the past three years.
Born in Romania, he came to Memphis about 50 years ago. He operated Walter’s Tin and Sheetmetal Shop until his retirement about ten years ago.
Mr. Walter was a
member of Beth El Emeth Congregation and was very
active in the congregation. He was
honored by the congregation at a special testimonial service last year.
Surviving are two
daughters, Miss Sophie Walter, of Memphis,
and Mrs. Irving Wenger, of San Francisco, California; two sons, Abe Walter and Dan Walter, both of
Memphis, 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held
Sunday morning with Rabbi Isadore Goodman and Rabbi
J. R. Rakofsky officiating. Interment was in Beth El Emeth
Cemetery.
