Mrs. Warhaftig Succumbs

 

   Services were held Thursday afternoon for Mrs. Hannah Lippman Warhaftig, Memphis resident since early childhood and widow of Frank Warhaftig, North Main Street merchant who passed away 50 years ago.  Mrs. Warhaftig, who made her home at Hotel Parkview, fell in front of the hotel about six weeks before her death.

   Mrs. Warhaftig was born in St. Louis 82 years ago, the daughter of the late Isaac and Pauline Lippman.  She had made her home in Memphis since she was 6 years old.  She was a life long member of Baron Hirsch Congregation.

   Surviving are her son, Sam Warhaftig, of Fort Wayne, Ind., who is known throughout the country through his long association with the Shrine Circus; a brother, a brother, Morris Lippman, resident of Hotel Peabody; and a sister, Mrs. Minnie L. Karnowski, who also makes her home at the Parkview Hotel.

   Rabbi Isadore Goodman, Rabbi David Skopp and Cantor M. I. Levin officiated at services.  Interment was in Baron Hirsch Cemetery.
